Built by the industry, for the industry and featuring a diverse line-up of over 60 speakers, the Defence in Space Conference 2023 provides an inclusive alternative to commercially-driven events. Entrance is free of charge for all participants.

The conference tackles a diversity of key topics from Industry, Government and Academia, such as: MilSatcom, Space Based ISR & Earth Observation, Space-Based Navigation, Space Domain Awareness, National Programmes and Space Security & Cyber Strategies.

Serving up panels, keynotes, fireside chats, open discussions, and networking opportunities, the event brings together international governments—as well as key space and Defence actors—from the commercial, institutional and research sectors. Participants will hear from leaders like Cdre David Moody RN, Head of Space Capability - UK Space Command; Brandi D. Burnett, Sustainability Director for Northrop Grumman Space Systems; Eric Brown, Vice President, Mission Strategy & Advanced Capabilities Comms, PNT, & Space Security, Lockheed Martin; Kay Sears, VP & General Manager Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems, Boeing Defence; Marty Conrad, Director UHF Stacom Solutions, Viasat, and David Fields, CEO of SES Space & Defense.

Conference content will be driven by the quality of this expertise. It marks the first event of its kind to offer a democratic approach to content design, combining expertise from within industry, government, and academia.

The first day of the conference will include a panel on LEO vs MEO vs GEO, featuring an array of industry experts and moderated by Major General (Retd) Bill Robins. It will also include technology-driven keynote talks on the integration of terrestrial and space-based communications, Cloud and virtualisation, among others.

The second day will cover such pressing and relevant topics as the future of tactical satcom, Cybersecurity, and space domain awareness warfare. In addition, the key nations represented at the conference, including Belgium, France, the UK, Luxembourg, and the US, will give an update on the current state of their national space programs.

The Defence in Space Conference has chosen to support the Jon Egging Trust, a charity that offers long-term support to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who are struggling to engage at school and may have lost focus, confidence and self-belief. JET's programmes offer students access to extraordinary workplaces and professional role models linked to space, aviation and STEM.
