2021 year in review
It has been a busy year for the ITP, with the launch of a new website to staging our annual awards once more in person. Here are our highlights:
January
As lockdown continued, members were taken on a virtual behind the scenes tour of Network Operations, O2's UK Network Management Centre.
Demi Pearce joined the ITP team as Business Admin Apprentice.
Our partnership is announced with Vorboss to recruit over 100 apprentices, half of which were to be female.
February
To coincide with National Apprenticeship Week, the ITP hosts an employer’s guide to apprenticeships webinar offering advice on everything from setting up a scheme to accessing funding.
Crissi Williams is interviewed by Comms Business about the importance of apprenticeships and our partnership with Vorboss.
Fifteen apprentices are recruited and start working for Vorboss.
ITP hosts three apprentice assessment days for Community Fibre Limited and recruits 11 apprentices.
March
Crissi Williams joins a panel at Channel Live Virtual to discuss the future of the skills gap and how to address it.
Sam Harridge joins the ITP team as a Recruitment Consultant.
April
ITP starts working with UK Connect to help recruit apprentices.
May
The new ITP website is launched.
2021 ITP Awards open for entries.
June
Women in Engineering Day is celebrated by interviewing our Apprentice of the Year 2019 Hannah Gorman.
The ITP’s Joe Kimber completes his Level 3 IT Technical Sales Apprenticeship.
July
Crissi Williams is listed as one of the top 100 influencers in the telecoms industry by Total Telecom and Connected Britain.
August
ITP contributes to a feature on improving diversity in Comms Dealer magazine.
A-level results reveal a 5.79 percentage point increase in female students taking Stem subjects in 2021 – with increases across all key Stem subjects.
September
Crissi Williams participates in a panel discussion at Connected Britain on developing skills for a new era of work.
Finalists are announced for the ITP Awards 2021.
October
Former Minister of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Ed Vaizey is appointed as the ITP’s patron.
Annual ITP Awards take place in person for the first time in two years recognising the shining stars of the industry.
November
Crissi Williams talks to Information Age about why it’s time to close the gender gap.
ITP recruits 129 apprentices as part of its partnership with Vorboss.
December
We are busy strategising for the next three years with a focus on #ChallengePerceptions.
