The ITP in its many forms has supported my career since I first joined Post Office Telecommunications as an apprentice in the 1980’s right up until the present day.

I joined what was then the IPOEE and retained my membership of the institute as it transformed through the IBTE to become the ITP. I have seen the industry expand from just a simple fixed telephone network run by a single incumbent through the innovation of the Internet and mobile networks to the array of Service and Network providers that form today’s market. That transformation has been reflected by the ITP whose membership now spans many eligible companies and offers a wide range of support to me and my fellow professionals. Whilst my early years were little more than a regular journal subscription, today my interaction with ITP, its partners and members has increased significantly, and I am now a regular participant in ITP events.
I would certainly recommend ITP membership to underpin the career development of anyone in the telecommunications industry whether just starting out as apprentice or graduate through to those in my peer group with many years of experience and knowledge to share.
